The founder
Mara Vance
Director and motion designer. Ten years cutting brand film and title sequences before starting Verso to teach the process, not just sell the output.

Mara spent her first six years freelancing for type foundries and record labels before realizing the best briefs were the ones nobody wanted — the ones where the client couldn't describe the feeling they were after, only that they'd know it when they saw it moved.
Verso Studio started as a two-person shop taking on exactly that kind of brief. It's grown into a small team, a flagship course, and a community of people who think about timing the way Mara does — as the whole argument, not a finishing touch.

How Mara works
Motion is the argument
A static frame states a fact. Movement is the only tool that can change someone's mind about it.
Foreground occlusion, always
A camera placed inside the moment reads as true. A camera placed in front of it reads as staged.
Teach the seeing, not the software
Tools change every two years. Timing, weight and easing don't — that's what actually gets taught here.
